The Cube Game

Between doubting and betting.
Deceiving and shouting.
Aligning and scheming.
We see human transforms into many forms.

The dealers stand in front of them all.
The man stands above them all.
The winner stands between them all.

Let’s do more auctions.
So we can guess the price of fruits and fishes.
Let’s go bargaining a little more.
So we can get some cube in between.

Coin flipping, straws drawing, dice throwing.
Maybe today is another day to get lucky.
Another time to mine minerals.
Another time to catch magnets.
Another day to bet your life on the match.

We think we can overcome the blood rush and the time limits.
Get on a monorails between stations.
Playing black and white with the cards.
Moving twelve pieces of chess.

But the innocent slays the kings.
The king slays the kingslayer.
The stories will always rewritten.

Wanderlust #2 – Sherlock Holmes Museum

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] year ago when my sister sent me a postcard and a book from Sherlock Holmes museum, I was brought to tears. Sherlock Holmes is a great deal to me. Back in elementary school, I prefer it more than all Enid Blyton’s books. To think about it now, it’s a little bit weird. Sherlock Holmes is a drug addict, heavy smoker, a total freak by all means.

But the truth is after reading Sherlock Holmes, I started to read Agatha Christie’s and buying book outside the children’s section. Needless to say, Sherlock Holmes is the first adult story I read. After the comic Detective Conan started to get popular, some of my friends also started to borrow my Sherlock Holmes collection. For a book collector like me, it is so hard when people telling you that they lost the book. Pain, so much pain. Because you know that some books are sold out and even if the publisher did print it again, the cover will be changed, the smell of the book will be different, and the memory will not be the same anymore. Sorry for this exaggeration, but it does happen :))

So when my sister bought me The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes in its original language, I cried. I stared at the book for a long time before started reading it. The fact that people love Sherlock Holmes more because of Benedict Cumberbatch or other adaptation fascinates me. Because there will be more love spread for the book and the character. And isn’t it the dream to step on Baker Street 221B?

PS:

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is the first British man I know bearing the title Sir before his name. So back then, I thought the title Sir is a family name :))

The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes is by far my favorite novel of them all.

Wave, Wave, Wave

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his April marks a whole bunch of things for me. Weezer’s 4th self-titled album was out. The long awaited 2nd album of The Last Shadow Puppets was out. And any other things I’m about to tell you later on.

It is officially Spring on the other part of the world, some friends intend or already visited Japan and snapped their first Sakura experience. My favorite photos come from one of my Instagram crush Maria Marie or better known as Cestmaria. Suddenly, I have this instant love with pink!

Crush, crush, crush.

Apart from the Spring fever, Weezer’s White Album is a personal favorite. LA has been the hometown for their whole career and Weezer has been writing a lot of songs about beach. But this Summer themed album is worth to talk about. I genuinely love most of the songs! And did I tell you I dig this cover album a lot? :3

Speaking about Summer, lately I’ve been inspired by:

synchronized-swimming

Synchronized swimming! Look at those blue and those bright uniforms. Absolute crush.

summer-drinks

Summer drinks with soda, mint, fruits, umbrella, and cool looking straw. It’s color party!

For the tropical country like Indonesia, which experienced summer-like-season almost all year, I think it is obvious that I’m drawn to it.

Until later then, sunshine believer!
