If I have to mention one thing that I miss about Bandung right now, I’d say it out loud. It is toko DVD Bajakan (pirate DVD shops, ugh). Bandung has been a place to many great boutiques, fashion outlets, and cafes, but you won’t find any satisfaction better than visiting pirate DVD shops (what a lame translation -__-‘). Here at Bandung, we got tons of pirated copy from your favorite movies of all time. The best thing about this shops is they make shopping DVD a fun thing to do. Shop like Chelsea DVD and Movie Room is so cozy, it makes you don’t want to leave. If you are after a rare treasure-like-DVD, just take angkot (public transportation) Cisitu – Tegalega or Sadang Serang – Caringin and visit Kota Kembang and you’ll be shock to the death to find what DVD collections they have there. I know it is pirated, and the tickets price to watch cinema in Bandung is cheaper than the ones in Jakarta. But I don’t care. I’m not here to judge, I’m one of their loyal customer.

People will suggest me to just download it on Rileks. At ITB, we got tons of more of the same movie collections in a form of data (with one of the best forum and servers). But I don’t own any extra hard disk, so owning a piece of disc with a nice cover and my handpick movie would be suited me better. I remember clearly that I would shop DVD like crazy, every month. With a 2 weeks interval and 30-45 minutes duration per visit, resulted an average 5 DVDs per visit, I consider myself a good investor. Here at Jakarta, you won’t find one stop entertainment (like Movie Room) that let you try the quality or the subtitle of their DVDs on a real TV set before actually buying it. Or the place you can return your corrupt DVD and ask for a new copy. It is rare also to find a seller who sets their price at Rp 5000 to Rp 6000 per disc. They usually sell their DVD ranging to Rp 10.000 – Rp 15.000 (wooooot…).

Oh, I do miss watching great movies. The last time I checked, I just entered a cinema empty headed watching Little Fockers (for as I remember that I don’t watch all the damned previous movies), and later disappointed enough about what I just watched.

Maybe we’re just dimmed star. We crash and burn to each other. We seek attention and someone that can answer. You’re talking to that wall and throwing things. Sometimes it bounces back. Sometimes it cracks and makes a loud bang. What you seek is just an apologize, or another attention. While others were making silent protest and plays an act of the lonely child who won’t come home. We’re just the same hopeless romantic. We’re not trying to be one. We won’t be one.

The way universe moves is an act of destiny and sometimes, we don’t want to believe it. Yet, we’re dimmed. We lost track to the road of fate, losing light and a way to follow. We’re out of the orbit and run out of gas. We’re tired of anger and trying to accept failure. Then we still crash and burn, finding each other in the lowest glow.

Yet, we’re thankful to crash and burn.

Random Things, from last month:

Fabio won the 21^st season of Survivor, Nicaragua. He got the title sole Survivor along with the obvious 1 million dollar prize, being the youngest person to win the show at the age of 21. But it is predictable. C’mon, the two other competitors—Chace and Sash—are a big liar.

Finally watching Victoria Secret Show 2010. The 2010 line-up includes Channel Iman, Rosie Hart, and Victoria Secret veteran—Adriana Lima. Katy Perry fitted enough to the show, wearing some purple short dress, singing Firework. This is my favorite wing through the show, wore by Behati Prinsloo for PINK collection.

Blog Crush! Katie Sokoler from Color Me Katie has changed my world for some reason. I fall in love immediately with her and her works. Actually, I adore people who can tell the story by picture and short lines, and she does. I really do want to write about her blog some other time.

I’ve never celebrated New Year, I just happen to grilled some seafood with my family and drinking orange juice while watching movie marathon galore on local television. But anyway, Happy New Year.

2011, yeah finally I had some plan. Goals, to be exact. You know, sometimes inspiration doesn’t struck you. You have to force it. C’mon, force doesn’t always bad. It is the Jedi good luck charm.

The goals are small, with short term deadline. Although, some details of the goal is still blurred, it is including taking driving license, writing more, rambling less, having my own room and painting rainbow on the walls. Ah, and also some trips. I’ll be saving more and maybe losing some weight :P Those all about the first part of 2011 that I want to achieve. On July, I want to dream big. So let’s make this 6 months worth it.

If we track back to 2008 when I started sharing my words to the wired, I’ve been loyal to the name yellowandred and I’ve been using diaryland ever since. Diaryland is enough for me. The website isn’t in the radar and it is simple although the dashboard is rather complicated. It is a blogging platform that suited me the best for its ability to make a custom CSS and HTML of your website from scratch. I get a complete control of everything and that’s just what I wanted. So I’ve been taking pledge with Diaryland. The only thing that was lacking is its ability to archive previous posts and the commenting system. I’ve been using some free comment platform and suddenly changed them to chat board. But it doesn’t bother me for these years.

After almost three years, I need a change. The world is changing, as well as people. Even ground is changing. Truth is, there’s thing that won’t change.

It stays.

2008 is nice, but 2011 is like a fast forward for me. I’ve got my Bachelor degree last year and I’m taking a whole new life. As forward, I will take my vow to WordPress. It is hard to say anymore good bye. But some things are meant to be change.

From now on, yellowandred will be taking a new home. A proud new home called:
