Closing April

Next week would already be May. It is a 5th month of 2012 FTW. It gave me loud bang. What have you done these past months? But first, here’s something I want to share this weekend.

Ryan Russel took some of the most beautiful photo of rock bands (including Paramore and Blink 182). A fun collection to admire. Do visit his Etsy shop if you consider buying one of the prints.

No wonder this album won a Grammy. I have been listening to the album for weeks and still amazed by the tunes. Wasting Light by Foo Fighters is the signature album of the band. Each track is fascinating in its own way. My favorite so far would be Arlandria and These Days. Worth listen to.

Lyrics to Live By is a pit stop for beautiful lines. Saw one post on the Tumblr reblog, ended up through its 300s posts.

Troy Meets World. You know I’m a big Survivor fans. 24 seasons and it is not slow me down a bit. This week, Jeff Probst snuffed out the torch of my favorite player this season. Throughout the season, Troyzan has evolved from just the member of Manono muscle alliance to the roaring lion of the game. He is smart, he plays with people’s mind, and he is strong at challenge. Unfortunately, he heated up slow and he lost the bet last Tribal Council. I would be so pissed if Troyzan doesn’t win the Sprint player this season.

Here we are again, May (really, I just want to sigh but I know I shouldn’t). I just hope for all of you to be alright. If you’re headed to an intersection, don’t be afraid, don’t look back. Just jump, fly, roll, and swing to it. Besides, no one will know what lies ahead if you don’t try it. Good luck. And remember to aim and later on, ignite.

The Essential Question

Couple of weeks ago, I went to Bandung to attend April Graduation. Where two of the gentlemen, Angga and Praba, shared one of their best moments. Unfortunately, I came late (stupid decision really, traffic was hard, rain came hard) so I didn’t take picture with the two of them. But I met with some of my friend who graduated, gave some chocolate and card.

Then later that night, I went back to Jakarta with Ijul and Lukman. On our way home, so many conversations went up. Some were pretty emotional. Some were honest with a lot of sigh. Some were daily jokes. Alongside the road with Coldplay song, we went miles above the cloud.

This was the one that really struck me.

Each and all of us have dreams, or simply some things that you really want to achieve. It could be high between the stars, or something humble beneath the ground. I have mine, you might be. People sometimes wanted something. He/she fights so hard to get it, but life sometimes harder, and sometimes things went unplanned. What would you do if you realize that there is no chance to get that something?

The essence of a dream is to know what the purpose of it. By understand the purpose, wherever ground you’re standing on, theoretically you will always get that something. Maybe in a different reality. All roads lead to Rome. The solution of climate problem is not only by becoming a ministry of environment or starting a green campaign. The real heroes are the common people reducing their carbon footprint in their households, the people who switch off the lamp in daylight.

Have you really got yours? Let’s do this homework first, then someday share me the story :)

She is

…like you.
She is like a ticking bomb. Ready to explode.
She is like a ticking bomb. Her days numbered, but some other time become countless.
She is like a ticking bomb. Launched in a loose cannon.
She is like a ticking bomb. Colorful yet dreadful.
A split second then it’s all be white, red, and then turn black. Or grey.
She is like a ticking bomb. Wanted to be found.
Eventually, nobody would find her. Yet everyone race to discover her.
She is like a ticking bomb. Wanted to be detonated.

Yet, doesn’t find someone that deserve the honor.

Fairy Tales

All fairy tales is not a lie. They exist. Sometimes in real life, if you got lucky (maybe). Fairy tales doesn’t always ends with happily ever after. Odette and the Prince in The Swan Lake died, Karen the girl with red shoes got amputated. In fact, fairy tales are real life written in rhymes, in satire way.

It is easy to fall in love with fairy tales. I mean, who wouldn’t want it? Roses, kisses, and ride to the sunset were perfectly unbeatable, the solution of every crisis. Who wouldn’t wish for a carpet ride around the world or a kiss of a life time? Whether we realize it or not, those fairy tales molds us to the person we are today. We tend to believe that it is the happiest way of living.

In real life, thing is rather messy. There is thing we know as reason and logic (and pain). I understand the power of feeling, and chemistry, and all words in Love Dictionary – Classic edition. I know, I live with it also. I, myself, is feeling worshipper. I don’t want to complicate thing as simple as feeling. It is the only good thing we have in this miserable world. But sometimes for a certain reason, my conscious mind reacts to the every action I did. I became rational when it comes to decision. Because it is lethal, sometimes you can’t go back past time and undo actions.

I will turn 25 this year, a quarter of decade years old. Young I must be from any other, and older I must be for the rest of it. I’ve got to separate what is fun and what is important. What is now and what is tomorrow. It is inevitable. The reality bites is, it is too late for playing along and going where wind takes.

Maybe some of us are still living in fairy tales, walking in a land far far away. Not knowing about the existence of poisoned apple. I do not judge, it is a choice for waking up. I, for instance, refuse to grow up. I believe Neverland exist, people can fly, and there are boys who would never grow old. But that doesn’t mean I’m not dealing with consequences of my choices.

Living the reality is not about stopping to have fun. It is about understanding the mechanism of life, about knowing how the gear works. Finding pieces to complete puzzle of life. The puzzle itself is a fun game to solve. To find what we are, to find reason, to find what we will become is a scary thing to start, and it will never be an easy process.

Feelings changed, memories faded, heart went away. There is pain, and there is the stiches. We hurt, and we get hurt. We feel desperation, we give sorrow. But we’ve got to waltz this dance anyway. Fairy tales are sweet and somewhat romantic, but what is now, is what we really have to deal with. Give up the fairy tales  thought I’d say. Please, start living.

PS: My favorite classical tales from Disney is (obviously) Aladdin. The answer for the why question is easy. Since earlier age, I choose to be a warrior.

Exchanging Hearts

The emptiness of a heart often considered as the main reason why people create word like ‘desperate’. But I thought, the emptiness of heart is almost impossible. There’s plenty of thing need considered on this chaotic era. There is so many things be considered to fill our heart.

Why do we need an important place like heart?

Because being born on the land of excessive beauty, is a blessed. This is the only way to return the favor for letting us step on this magnificent soil. Heart is an equal exchange.
