January came with a lot of bad news on television. Flood strikes earlier this month, drug cases involving an artist and political figure, another political figure arrest because of alleged bribery, narcissistic people trying to become president, etc. Staying away from national news/television is really a better option these days. But, every other day I think we should find things to be thankful for. There should be.
Like the spring collection from Flats for Jade.
I have things with Indonesian’s local product. I also have this thing about neon colors. Get is a Bandung based, local company specialized in daily bagpacks and messangers, as well as travel packs. The nice thing is they named every products by a place on Indonesia. Bromo, Narmada, Wakatobi, etc. I definitely have eyes on the Mandalika series.
(When I’m not taking another over time at the office on weekends) I’ve been spending time on YouTube :)) From the Korean’s freshest video clips (ouch!), through Phantom Planet’s one hit wonder California, and then The Lizzie Bennet’s diary. I first knew it when some friends mention it on Twitter, turns out that I really like it. The Lizzie Bennet’s diary is a modern visualization of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, funny because a couple of Google search landed you to the fact that this year, there will be a celebration of 200 years of Pride & Prejudice. Actually, I don’t read the book or watch the movie, so it serves as a fresh playlist for me. Lizzie, the main protagonist reminded me of Max from 2 Broke Girls. A sarcastic, witty, and fast-talker charm.
This week, I’ve started listening to Mumford & Sons. All my veins want to scream, where the hell am I this whole time? The music is just dragging you to a valley of beautiful blissfulness. No, I’m not overreacting. Watching their video clips and live concerts hooked you up with so much musical passion and emotion. I don’t dig folk or country music, but these guys are really worth listening to. My favorite tracks are quite obvious: Roll Away My Stone, Little Lion Man, The Cave from Sigh No More and I Will Wait from Babel.
After all, let’s get excited for February. I wish all of you could start something you’re really wanting to do this month. I’ll leave you with this lovely picture from this website :)
