It’s Sunday night and I’ve finished listing down my to-do list for next week. So, I thought I will write here before midnight greets. It’s been quite a while for the obvious Random Round-Up, so here it comes again.
Every single year, I always want to add more books to the rack but I’m completely aware of my limited budget to do so. Foreign books nowadays cost around IDR 150.000 – IDR 400.000, so I always prefer to get the Indonesian translated version because it’s way cheaper. I can’t read an e-book, because my work is related closely to my laptop and I want to limit my interaction to electronic screen. Besides, the only devices I can use to read an e-book are my laptop and phone. The screen size is either too big or too small, which make both uncomfortable to use. But last week, I found this promo from Gramedia website. Paket Merdeka gives the opportunity to buy a bundle of books according to a genre which features 1 best seller book and 4 mystery books. There’s also a Mystery Blind Bundle which include 5 mystery books from various genre.
The concept itself is not completely new, POST has been organized a couple of Blind Date with A Book events, where the customer buys a book without knowing what the title is. But I think it’s a fresh approach for Gramedia and a nice way to clean up their inventory :P I choose Paket Sastra 2 and though I just started reading them, I’m totally satisfied with all of my books :3
One of the things I want to do for a really long time is keeping a journal. It is said to benefit the soul and it has been recommended for mental health patients for years. I struggled to put words in a journal because somehow, I want to keep it simple but don’t want to lose the feeling of that day.
I found Daylio apps earlier this month and I have been diligently tracking my mood until today. The apps is a simple log which records your mood and activity for a day. You can change every single label for mood and activities, also see the helpful statistic on your mood chart, average daily mood per day, etc. Moreover, you can use it to see which activities triggered your mood or your emotional pattern during a week. I strongly recommend the apps for you. It’s super helpful if you want to learn how to understand yourself and how to respond better with your emotion.
The Body Shop is a brand which probably has the closest relation to every Indonesian woman :)) I mean, The Body Shop has been the it-brand when it comes to beauty products before the invasion of Korean skincare and local natural products. Though I stop using its skincare after I get acquainted with Korean skincare, I’m still using its perfume and scrub/lotion. This month, The Body Shop released the newest line of Facial Mist using fruit-based ingredients, which I found really interesting.
I knew the brand from a friend’s post on Instagram. Ica, the founder of Sun & Moon, created a line of handmade clothes for fairies. Using natural linen material, the clothes are often decorated by manual embroidery which really gives a sense of magical things with a lot of sincerities. I fall in love with the Marigold Child Dress and the Night Sun Dress. A little tip before ordering, the cutting is pretty loose, so you don’t need to worry for taking a smaller size than usual. I regret ordering a Large size dress because I’m buried inside it and need to alternate it to fit me more :)) Lesson learned, stick to the Medium size!
Bonus point, Ica really cares about her customers and the experience of unboxing her products. The package comes with a free zine and a pack of dry flowers (she named it Harum Alam). I put the flowers on my desk and the smell still lingers until now :3

In the noisy world we’ve lived in, which everyone suddenly needed our attention, I hope you can take rest for a while. My best advice, sleep faster and wake up 30 minutes – 1 hour earlier. You can feel solemn by doing nothing or completely aware of your existence. Floating between routines. Taking advantages of the silence.
I hope next week would be a better day for you. Have a good rest :)
