The Home Office

Ever since I’ve started working from home, I’ve always wanted a personal desk and the so-called “home office”. I’ve seen many inspirations on the internet on how to make an affordable home office but I’ve never really managed to make it comes true. Like I wrote before, I’ve always worked from my bed or on the floor :)) Though I understand it’s considered not healthy, it’s still bearable because I don’t have any other option whatsoever.

But a girl can dream. I mean, who doesn’t want to have these kinds of office?

One thing that made me worry when I moved out, it’s the fact whether I could fit “the warehouse” I have back at home to the new house. My previous house is an old big-family-style kind of house, so it’s more than enough to store all my things. If I need to compare it with my current house, the size will be 1/5 in comparison (because that’s what we manage to afford). Besides, after moving 6 months here, I realized that having a small house is an advantage in terms of cleaning :))

I think a lot of people who have their own small business will sympathize with me more. It’s hard to keep things tidy every day when you have a moving stock.

A horror scene

Pardon me for the Mamamoo’s poster :P

When I moved out here, I set a goal to allocate my saving for finally making the home office thing comes true. It’s always easier said than done, my saving flew away since I need to prioritize other things first. So as you can see, it was so horrible when you need to find a product and ship it. I abandoned the room too long that I barely walked freely here. I became lazy to sweep and mop the floor because there are too many things laying around! But last month, I finally managed to save enough to buy some stuff and a desk!

I put the desk by the window because I can get fresh air as well as watching other people behind the curtain :)) It’s a little refreshment every once in a while. The desk is more like an intern desk (because the one that I want is sold out at IKEA). But I’m glad I got this desk because it fits the room perfectly. A compact size is always a plus. Though I still use the chair from our dining table and sometimes get a back pain when working too long, I still can manage it. A comfortable working chair is such a luxury and kind of expensive :(

And because I imagined that I will get tired of cleaning it, I don’t add a lot of knick-knacks here. Besides, I already have a lot of knick-knacks from the photo props and the stuff I own.

I plan to buy more container boxes since there is still some space left in the racks. Originally, I also plan to add a sofa bed by the other side of the wall, but since my saving won’t get there yet anytime soon. I think the plan will wait for next year.

I’m still working hard to keep everything tidy every day but I love the fact that I’ve already checked a wishlist from years before. The home office doesn’t look like the one that I’ve imagined it to be. The furniture is a mismatch from one another (but somehow I love it). I also don’t do extra paint job because of the tight budget that I have, but overall I’m quite happy with all of this. I feel more energized to work because now I have a place to go to every morning :3

Though this thing happens quite a lot lately, I think I can still bear it for a while. See you later :)
