Starting July

Since today marks the first day of the official working day for most of Indonesian people, I think I will start the month of July with the intention of writing a lot of posts here.

Last Ramadhan is a busy month for Kawung Living, we racked up a lot of orders due to the promotion here and there (terpujilah mba-mba LINE Shopping & Dekoruma). The new product addition of Eid Hampers made more purchases than we thought it would be (which made my thoughts fly off to Christmas Hampers earlier than it should be :P). We sent a lot of bulk offers and deals to clients, waiting to (hopefully) be finalized on early month. We agreed to take 2 weeks off any business related and focused on ourselves and our families.

Since my family didn’t plan to go anywhere this Eid, I decided to scan my sketchbook and digitizing my handwritings. I didn’t socialize that much this Eid, I barely went outside my room. I spent the entire week so focused on the task and hungry for more. I love how the learning curve of each projects that I’ve done this past year. I have many solutions for each problem, get craftier on shortcuts, and thankfully get things done much faster.

And if you notice, I add another banner on the sidebar titled SHOP @ uncletivo. You can now buy items I made on my spare time while not working on Kawung Living. I draw a little bit of line when making Kawung Living’s products and sure there is a limitation when it comes to the line of products that I can make.

Things You Don’t (Really) Need

I want to buy a new pair of double tip marker and spend a lot on a rounded corner craft cutter.
I want to have a Wacom to trace all my handwriting because I’m tired of using a mouse.
I want to get a Pantone book so I don’t need to argue with my fabric Vendor anymore.
I want to eat at an all-you-can-eat meat buffet and take 2 scoops of Italian gelato.
I want to walk in a flower pattern shoes and grab a handful of sample sale shirts in my favorite clothing store.
I want to take return tickets to Taipei and have all the street food and milk tea in a night market.

I want many things.
Things that I don’t really need.
But feeling content doesn’t involve new things.
Feeling enough doesn’t need many things.
And today, among other days, I think I don’t need any more than I already have.

Tree Hugger

After a month of failed interviews and disheartening news, Ramadhan is finally here. It’s great to have a new routine to run to. I tried my hand on writing, but nothing comes out. It’s weird also that when I don’t have any intention on writing, I just blurted out 2000+ of words yesterday. I’ve been trying to be productive this past month, but still trying to get more grasp on anything else. Scrapping things each day, wanting to know what’s wrong.

It’s becoming harder to write about my own life each days, as I became more reluctant to share current information to anyone else. One day, I’ve been reading about argument about being extrovert, introvert and this new terminology called ambivert. I’ve been cynical to this, I can’t agree on the idea of people called themselves an introvert at sometimes and called extrovert on another time. There’s a big difference between not wanting to meet people or having their energy drained when meeting people. But then again, labeling a person in one thing is not entirely a nice thing to do.

On and all, here’s to another Monday and another week. Let’s try to have a really meaningful time for ourselves each day.

Spring Fling

It’s almost the end of April and everyone on the other timeline seem to enjoy Sakura blossoms on the other side of the world. It feels good to see people enjoying their vacation rather than bickering about the political situation. So here’s a recap of things I found the previous month.

Beauty and The Beast is indeed one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. Back in the VHS era, it was one of the only three movies I had on the rack. I’m sure my mother picked it up randomly but the movie left a great impression to me. While Aladdin is still my favorite Disney movie because of its sense of adventure (and complex understanding of human’s greed), Beauty and The Beast is the close second. One of the reasons why I love it so much, is I envy Beast’s library.

I remember most of the songs present in the movie, especially Be Our Guest and Something There. When the live version movie came last month, I immediately watch it on its premiere date (and once more after that).

Beast’s library is the only place that matters

For those of you who skips the entire 20^th century and never watch the original 1991 cartoon version, Beauty and The Beast is the first animated movie to be nominated for The Best Picture at Academy Awards. It is also the first animated movie which receives Golden Globe’s Best Picture for Musical and Comedy back in 1992. It’s /that/ good.

Spring Breeze

Though I’m not celebrating Spring, we should agree that March is a sign of warmer weather. Indonesia is poured by heavy rain since the beginning of the year and the political heat hasn’t worn off ever since. But as March is the closing month of the first quarter of 2017, I want to make sure that I don’t let the year goes by too fast. Since I haven’t posted any random list for this year, here’s a few exciting things I’ve found so far.

Project Style gives us a gift in a shape of collaboration from Disney and few of our local brands. The brands include some of my favorites, like Kandura, Limawatch, and shopatvelvet. The results are interesting, look at those watches!
